Carpet Cleaning Harringay Service Terms and Conditions
These Terms and Conditions set out the basis on which Carpet Cleaning Harringay provides carpet, upholstery and related cleaning services to residential and commercial customers. By placing a booking, you agree that you have read, understood and accepted these Terms and Conditions. They apply to all services supplied unless we agree otherwise in writing.
1. Definitions
In these Terms and Conditions, the following expressions have the meanings set out below.
Client means the person, company or organisation booking the services.
Premises means the property or location where the services are to be carried out.
Services means any carpet, rug, upholstery, mattress, hard floor, or other cleaning or related work provided by Carpet Cleaning Harringay.
Agreement means the contract between Carpet Cleaning Harringay and the Client for the supply of services in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.
2. Scope of Services
Carpet Cleaning Harringay provides professional cleaning services within its declared service area. The exact services to be provided will be described in the booking confirmation, which may include a description of the areas, items, and methods to be used.
All work is carried out using techniques and products selected by Carpet Cleaning Harringay according to the nature and condition of the items and surfaces to be cleaned. While we will take account of any reasonable Client preferences, the final choice of methods and products remains at our discretion, subject to health, safety and legal requirements.
3. Booking Process
3.1 Bookings may be made by submitting a request through our online form or by contacting us through our approved communication channels. When making a booking, the Client must provide accurate and complete information, including the Premises address, access details, parking information, type and approximate size of areas or items to be cleaned, and any known issues such as stains, odours, water damage, or delicate fabrics.
3.2 A booking is considered an offer by the Client to purchase services in accordance with these Terms and Conditions. The Agreement is formed only when Carpet Cleaning Harringay confirms the booking and appointment date and time. We reserve the right to decline any booking request at our discretion.
3.3 Any quotation provided prior to inspection is an estimate only, based on the information supplied by the Client. We may revise the quotation on arrival at the Premises if the information originally provided is incomplete or inaccurate, or if the condition or size of the areas or items differs from what was described.
3.4 The Client is responsible for ensuring that someone over the age of 18 is present at the Premises at the agreed start time, unless alternative access arrangements have been agreed in advance. If our team cannot gain access to the Premises at the appointment time, this may be treated as a late cancellation and a charge may apply.
4. Pricing and Payments
4.1 Prices are normally quoted per room, per item, or per job and will be confirmed at the time of booking or upon inspection before work starts. All prices are stated in pounds sterling and include applicable taxes unless otherwise stated.
4.2 Carpet Cleaning Harringay reserves the right to adjust its prices from time to time. Updated prices will not affect existing confirmed bookings unless there is a material change to the scope of work or to the information originally provided by the Client.
4.3 Payment is due on completion of the services on the day of the appointment, unless alternative arrangements have been agreed in writing before the appointment. We accept commonly used payment methods as notified to the Client at the time of booking or at the Premises.
4.4 Where an invoice is issued, payment must be made within the period stated on the invoice. If no period is stated, payment shall be due within 7 calendar days of the invoice date.
4.5 Carpet Cleaning Harringay may require a deposit or prepayment for certain bookings, including but not limited to large jobs, commercial contracts, or appointments scheduled during peak periods. Any deposit requirements will be communicated at the time of booking.
4.6 If payment is not received when due, Carpet Cleaning Harringay may charge interest on the overdue amount at the statutory rate and may suspend or cancel any further services for the Client until all outstanding sums have been paid in full.
5. Cancellations, Rescheduling and Access
5.1 The Client may cancel or reschedule an appointment by giving notice through the same channel used for booking or any other approved method. Notice is deemed received only when Carpet Cleaning Harringay confirms receipt.
5.2 If the Client cancels or reschedules more than 24 hours before the scheduled start time, no cancellation or rescheduling fee will normally apply, unless otherwise specified at the time of booking.
5.3 If the Client cancels or reschedules less than 24 hours before the scheduled start time, Carpet Cleaning Harringay may charge a late cancellation fee up to 50 percent of the quoted service price, to cover the costs of reserved staff time and lost opportunity.
5.4 If our team arrives at the Premises at the confirmed time and cannot gain access, or if the Client or their representative is not present where their presence is required, this may be treated as a late cancellation. In such cases, a call out charge or late cancellation fee may be payable.
5.5 Carpet Cleaning Harringay reserves the right to cancel or reschedule an appointment in cases of staff illness, severe weather, vehicle breakdown, or other circumstances beyond our reasonable control. In such cases, we will offer the Client the earliest alternative appointment. We shall not be liable for any losses arising from such cancellations or delays, other than a refund of any prepaid sums for services not provided.
6. Client Responsibilities
6.1 The Client must ensure that the Premises are safe and accessible for our team and that there is adequate lighting, electricity, and water supply on the day of service.
6.2 The Client should remove small items, valuables, fragile objects, and personal belongings from the areas to be cleaned before our arrival, or ensure they are safely stored or clearly pointed out to our team. Carpet Cleaning Harringay will not be responsible for moving heavy furniture, electrical appliances, or valuable items unless explicitly agreed in advance.
6.3 The Client must inform Carpet Cleaning Harringay in advance of any known risks, defects, or sensitivities, including damaged flooring, loose carpets, unstable furniture, or materials that may react adversely to standard cleaning solutions.
6.4 Pets and children should be kept away from the work areas and from any equipment, cables, cleaning solutions, or waste containers during and immediately after cleaning.
7. Service Standards and Results
7.1 Carpet Cleaning Harringay will perform the services with reasonable care and skill, using appropriate equipment and cleaning products for the task.
7.2 While we aim to achieve the best possible results, the outcome of any cleaning service can depend on factors such as the age and condition of the carpet or fabric, prior cleaning attempts, type of stains, and the materials involved. For this reason, we do not guarantee the complete removal of all stains, odours, or marks.
7.3 Any pre-existing damage, wear, fading, or discolouration may become more visible after cleaning. Carpet Cleaning Harringay is not responsible for such pre-existing conditions, nor for any adverse outcomes that arise from them where they were not obvious or disclosed in advance.
7.4 Drying times vary according to ventilation, temperature, humidity, and the nature of the fibres. The Client is responsible for ensuring adequate ventilation and for taking reasonable precautions while carpets or fabrics are still damp.
8. Waste Handling and Environmental Responsibilities
8.1 Carpet Cleaning Harringay will handle, transport and dispose of any waste generated in the course of providing the services in accordance with applicable waste management and environmental regulations.
8.2 Any waste that is classed as controlled or hazardous, including but not limited to certain contaminated materials, will be dealt with in line with relevant legal requirements. Additional charges may apply where specialist handling or disposal is required. Such charges will be explained to the Client as soon as reasonably practicable.
8.3 The Client remains responsible for any waste or materials not specifically included within the scope of the services. We do not act as a general waste removal contractor unless this has been agreed as an additional service.
8.4 Carpet Cleaning Harringay endeavours to use cleaning products and methods that are safe and environmentally responsible where possible. However, in some cases, stronger products may be necessary to achieve a reasonable level of cleanliness or stain removal. Any specific environmental or allergy related concerns must be raised by the Client before work begins.
9. Liability and Limitations
9.1 Carpet Cleaning Harringay will take reasonable care to avoid damage to the Premises and items being cleaned. If damage occurs as a direct result of our negligence, we will, at our option, repair the damage, arrange for a third party to repair it, or compensate the Client for the reasonable cost of repair, up to the limits set out in this section.
9.2 The Client must notify Carpet Cleaning Harringay in writing of any alleged damage or issue arising from the services within 48 hours of completion. We may need to inspect the affected area or item before any remedial actions can be agreed.
9.3 Our total liability for any loss or damage arising out of or in connection with the services, whether in contract, tort or otherwise, shall be limited to the total price paid or payable by the Client for the specific service in question. This limitation does not apply to liability which cannot legally be excluded or limited, such as liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
9.4 Carpet Cleaning Harringay will not be liable for any indirect or consequential loss, including loss of profits, loss of opportunity, or loss of enjoyment, nor for any loss arising from delays or failures caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
9.5 We are not responsible for any deterioration of items or surfaces where the condition or instability of the materials means that cleaning is undertaken at the Client’s risk, particularly where the Client has requested treatment contrary to our advice.
10. Insurance
10.1 Carpet Cleaning Harringay maintains appropriate insurance cover in relation to the services it provides. Details of our insurance can be made available to the Client on reasonable request.
10.2 The existence of insurance does not extend our liability beyond the terms of these Terms and Conditions, nor does it create any direct right of claim against our insurers by the Client.
11. Complaints and Disputes
11.1 If the Client is dissatisfied with any aspect of the services, they should contact Carpet Cleaning Harringay as soon as possible, and in any event within 48 hours of completion of the work. We will investigate the matter and, where appropriate, may offer to re attend the Premises to inspect or rectify the issue.
11.2 The Client must provide clear details of the complaint and allow us a reasonable opportunity to investigate and, if appropriate, remedy any problem. Refusal to allow re attendance may limit any remedy that could otherwise be offered.
11.3 Any dispute relating to these Terms and Conditions or to the services provided shall, in the first instance, be discussed between the parties in good faith with a view to resolving the matter amicably.
12. Personal Data and Privacy
12.1 Carpet Cleaning Harringay will collect and process personal data provided by the Client for the purposes of managing bookings, delivering services, processing payments, and handling any enquiries or complaints.
12.2 We will take reasonable steps to protect personal data and will not share it with third parties except where necessary to deliver the services, to comply with legal obligations, or where the Client has given consent.
12.3 Further information about how we handle personal data may be provided in a separate privacy notice or policy.
13. Variations and Amendments
13.1 Carpet Cleaning Harringay may update or amend these Terms and Conditions from time to time. The version in force at the time the booking is confirmed will apply to that Agreement.
13.2 Any variation to these Terms and Conditions requested by the Client shall only be effective if agreed by Carpet Cleaning Harringay in writing.
14. Severability
14.1 If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is found by a court or other competent authority to be invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable, that provision shall be deemed deleted and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
15. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
15.1 These Terms and Conditions and any Agreement between the Client and Carpet Cleaning Harringay shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
15.2 The parties agree that the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms and Conditions or the services provided.
16. Entire Agreement
16.1 These Terms and Conditions, together with the booking confirmation and any documents expressly referred to in them, constitute the entire agreement between Carpet Cleaning Harringay and the Client in relation to the services and supersede any previous understandings, agreements, or representations, whether written or oral.
By confirming a booking with Carpet Cleaning Harringay, the Client acknowledges that they have read, understood and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
